Faculty Voting Update 2-24-2011

Faculty Voting Go Live

The Faculty Voting Project’s official Go-Live coincides with the first election using the new Faculty Voting application on February 28, 2011. The Faculty Voting application is currently in production and can be accessed at the following website http://facultyvoting.arizona.edu/. The application can also be accessed from the Faculty Center’s home page http://facultygovernance.arizona.edu/. The Faculty Center will introduce the new tool to faculty with the announcement for the first round of elections.

The University’s former Faculty Voting and Election application allowed eligible Faculty to vote on important issues and conduct elections for offices, committee memberships and senate seats. This application was previously hosted on Employee Link. Employee Link was retired in September 2009 and was replaced with UAccess Employee, our new HR system.

The implementation of UAccess Employee created a gap in service for the Faculty Voting and Election application, as that functionality did not carry over into the new HR system. On October 26, 2010, the effort to develop a new Faculty Voting application began.

This effort was a partnership between UITS and D’Mention Systems. UITS and D’Mention Systems worked closely with the Faculty Center’s functional liaison, Brianna Thaut to create the project’s scope, identify business requirements and outline functionality.
